Since July 2023, cameras have quietly followed the Hamilton Cardinals behind the scenes.

What began as a rebrand and revival of the Cardinals in 2023 has evolved into something much more - MVP honours, heartbreaking losses, meaningful community moments, and a historic player signing no one saw coming.

This is the untold story of a 67-year-old team on the edge of transformation.

Season 1 of Take Flight will include five episodes highlighting the 2023 and 2024 seasons. Streaming for free on Cable14.com starting May 30th.

Season 1 - Episode Listing

Episode 1: “Cleared for Takeoff”

Eric Spearin, a Hamilton native and logistics CEO, takes a leap of faith by purchasing the struggling Cardinals. What follows is a whirlwind of change—new branding, new energy, and a new mission. The 2023 season is full of fresh faces, tough decisions, and rising expectations as the Cardinals try to chart a new course.



Episode 2: “Future Fans, Present Heroes”

As the 2024 season begins, the Cardinals return with fresh ideas and big ambitions. School Day Games bring thousands of kids to the stands, and MVP Tyler Duncan is honoured with a superhero-themed celebration. A new chapter begins—this one aimed squarely at the next generation of fans.



Episode 3: “Dog Days”

June tests the team on and off the field. Losses stack up, but first baseman Tanner Rempel brings levity to the dugout. Meanwhile, behind the scenes, the Cardinals’ game day crew keeps the energy alive at the ballpark.



Episode 4: “Camp Cardinals”

In July, the players step off the field and into the community—leading the team’s annual kids camp, appearing at local events, and representing Hamilton at the All-Star Showdown. Tyler Duncan swings for the fences at the Home Run Derby.



Episode 5: “Major Rivals”

When General Manager George Halim steps down in August, the Cardinals’ Baseball Operations staff is left to navigate the trade deadline with the season hanging in the balance. The team enters the playoffs facing their longtime foes, the London Majors, while questions about how to take the next step grow louder.
