Tyler Duncan Awarded First-Ever Rawlings Gold Glove for Hamilton Cardinals
The Hamilton Cardinals are proud to announce that outfielder Tyler Duncan has been named a Rawlings Golden Glove recipient for the 2025 Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) season. The award highlights Duncan’s defensive excellence and his ability to anchor the outfield with consistent, high-caliber play.
Duncan proved himself as one of the league’s most dependable defenders over the past four seasons, showcasing range, instincts, and reliability that set the standard for outfield performance. His glove work and defensive presence were crucial to the Cardinals’ success this season. He had a perfect fielding percentage while registering 54 putouts.
In addition to his Golden Glove recognition, Duncan was also named a starter in the 2025 IBL All-Star Game, underscoring his status as one of the league’s top all-around players. He further cemented his reputation as a fan favorite by capturing the Home Run Derby title for the second time—this time in front of the hometown crowd in Hamilton.
Duncan’s offensive production matched his defensive brilliance. Over 40 games, he recorded 159 at-bats, 49 hits, 11 doubles, 2 triples, 7 home runs, and 30 RBIs, with 31 runs scored, 21 walks, and 8 stolen bases. He finished the season with a .308 batting average and delivered one of baseball’s rarest feats by hitting for the cycle.
This combination of defensive reliability, offensive impact, and standout performances in marquee events made 2025 a signature season for Duncan, reinforcing his place among the league’s elite players.
Since its creation for MLB in 1957, The Rawlings Gold Glove Award® has been the benchmark by which all defense is measured across the sport of baseball. The 2025 season marks the debut of the Rawlings Gold Glove Award in the IBL, with Tyler Duncan becoming the first Hamilton Cardinal ever to receive the honor.
