Cardinals Win In Barrie Saturday

BARRIE – Brandon Nicoll went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs in Hamilton’s 7-4 win Saturday in Barrie. Yolki Pena and Niko Kekatos each had three hits and two RBI for the fifth-place Cardinals (21-20). Carlos Dominguez and Tommy Reyes-Cruz had two hits apiece, and Tyler Duncan scored three times and had two of Hamilton’s five stolen bases.

 

Logan Warkentin (1-0) fanned five over five scoreless innings for the win on the mound. Fernando Rodney struck out both batters he faced for his seventh save.

  

Tristan Clarke and Tyler Plumpton both had two hits and an RBI for the third-place Baycats (23-18). Andrew Johnston drove in two, Hayden Jaco singled and doubled, and Noah Hull scored twice. 

 

Cesar Rosado (4-5) was handed the loss after giving up five runs (four earned) on three hits in 2.1 innings. He issued four free passes and struck out two.
