Cardinals Lose To Guelph Tuesday

GUELPH – A six-run eighth inning lifted Guelph to a 7-5 win over Hamilton on Tuesday at David E. Hastings Stadium. 


J.D. Williams had one of three hits in the inning, a two-run single that tied the game. He scored the go-ahead run on a passed ball. Guelph (19-21) also took advantage of a walk and three Cardinals’ errors.  

Garrett Takamatsu singled twice and drove in a run, Andy Leader had an RBI, and Franklin Torres went 3-for-4 with a run.  


Jacob Kush (4-4) tossed three scoreless, one-hit innings of relief to earn the win. He walked two and fanned four. Edgar Garcia locked down his seventh save. Antonio Frias was pulled after getting one out in the first inning. He allowed three runs on four hits and a strikeout 


For Hamilton (19-20), Jaden Brown hit a two-run blast to give the Cards a 3-0 lead in the first inning. Carlos Dominguez singled and hit a solo home run, Brandon Nicoll doubled twice and drove in a run, and Jommer Hernandez added an RBI.  


Steven Hospital (1-3) gave up three unearned runs in one-third of an inning to take the loss. Freisis Adames started and went five innings, giving up a run on five hits with a walk and nine punchouts.
