Cardinals Fall To Royals Friday
HAMILTON – Liam Wilson and Garrett Takamatsu carried the Guelph offence, and five pitchers combined to hold Hamilton at bay as the Royals (16-18) won 5-2 for their fifth straight victory.
Wilson had two hits and drove in two, while Takamatsu went 2-for-5 with three RBI. Connor Morro singled twice.
Royals’ reliever Kyle Thomas (2-0) picked up the win. He allowed a run on three hits over two innings. He struck out three after coming in for starter Antonio Frias, who tossed three scoreless innings. Frias walked one and fanned four.
Edgar Garcia struck out the side in the ninth for his fourth save.
For Hamilton (17-16), Brandon Nicoll and Josh Williams each had an RBI. Jommer Hernandez went 3-for-4 and scored a run.
Owen Boon was handed the loss after yielding two runs on three hits in 3.2 innings. He walked one and fanned four.
