Cardinals defeat Guelph 6-1 Friday

HAMILTON – The Cardinals got back to .500 with a 6-1 home win over Guelph on Friday night.  


Hamilton leadoff hitter Carlos Dominguez went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two steals. Brandon Nicoll singled twice, drove in a run and also swiped a pair of bags, and Jaden Brown added a sacrifice fly.  


Enrique Saldana (4-3) punched out four over six shutout innings to get the win. He scattered two hits and walked one.  


Hamilton (20-20) is fifth with two games remaining 


J.D. Williams singled, doubled and stole his sixth base for the Royals (19-22). 

 

Antonio Frias (0-1) was tagged for five runs on five hits in four innings to take the loss. He struck out four and walked four.  


The sixth-place Royals have one game left.
